Clusters
Kovra supports two types of Kubernetes clusters: Bring Your Own Cluster (BYOC) and Managed Clusters.
Bring Your Own Cluster (BYOC)
Connect existing Kubernetes clusters by providing a kubeconfig. Kovra installs a lightweight agent that enables:
- Application deployments
- Monitoring and metrics collection
- Namespace management
- Secret and ConfigMap management
Connecting a Cluster
- Navigate to Clusters and click Add Cluster
- Upload your kubeconfig or paste the connection details
- Test the connection
- The agent will be installed automatically
Managed Clusters
Kovra can provision fully managed Kubernetes clusters on your cloud provider:
- AWS EKS — Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service
- GCP GKE — Google Kubernetes Engine
Creating a Managed Cluster
- Navigate to Clusters and click Create Managed Cluster
- Select your cloud provider and region
- Choose a tier (Starter, Standard, Production)
- Configure node pools
- Kovra provisions the cluster automatically
Monitoring Clusters
Each cluster has a monitoring dashboard showing node health, resource usage, and pod status. See Monitoring for details.
